The Historic Preservation Commission consists of five citizen members and two alternate members who are authorized by the city’s Historic Preservation ordinance to review exterior changes to buildings and structures which have been locally designated as Historic Landmarks or Historic Districts within the City of Jackson.
The Planning and Zoning Commission studies requests for subdivision of land, land exchange, and zoning change, and any proposed change to the Zoning Code or Land Subdivision Regulations, then provides a recommendation for approval or disapproval to the Board of Aldermen.
The Zoning Board of Adjustment hears citizen requests for variances from certain zoning regulations such as setback requirements and lot coverage limitations.
