Overview
Dwain Hahs, Mayor, presides over the Board of Aldermen, the governing body of Jackson. The mayor and board positions for the City's four wards, two aldermen from each ward, are elected to two year terms in April municipal elections.
The Mayor and Board of Aldermen meet twice a month, regularly scheduled on the first and third Monday each month at 6 pm Board meetings are held at City Hall, 101 Court Street. Meetings are open to the public and citizens are encouraged to attend with the study session immediately following the regular meeting. In case of holidays or special circumstances, the regular or additional meetings may be scheduled on alternate days. Meeting agendas are available on Friday afternoons prior to each meeting online, at City Hall, and in local media.
